Speaking to a Group: A Quiz That Will Assess How ‘Easy’ or ‘Tough’ An Audience May Be
April 8, 2016

ROCHESTER, NY | EAST HAMPTON, NY, April 8, 2016 – Communispond Inc., the leader in professional skills training, published a quiz that, when taken, will assess how ‘easy’ or ‘tough’ an audience may be. The quiz consists of just 5 multiple choice questions. Each answer is assigned a number from 1 to 4. At the end of the quiz, the combination of 1’s, 2’s, 3’s, and/or 4’s is added together. If that number is between 5 and 10, then the audience is an easy audience. If it’s between 11 and 14, then the audience is challenging, and if that number is between 15 and 20, then the audience is tough. Communispond supplies different tips to the presenter depending on each of the 3 levels of audience difficulty.

Here is an excerpt from Communispond’s blog post on how to detect the differences between an easy audience and a tough audience:

“People lose a measure of their self-awareness when they are in crowds, and it’s easier to laugh when you’re less aware of yourself. And the same thing that may make people more susceptible to humor can also make them more susceptible to persuasion, understanding, or even incitement.

And that’s why you, as a presenter, should never approach an audience unprepared. Learn everything you can about the individuals in it. It’s the only way you can hope to understand them and to make sure you can give them something they need, which is the biggest single determinant of a successful presentation.”
